Use of Facilities

  • The hours of operation will be established considering the season of the year and other circumstances.
  • All state and local laws concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages will be strictly enforced. Alcohol may be purchased in the clubhouse and from the beverage cart, but must not be taken off the premises.
  • Golfers may be removed from the golf course due to threatening weather
  • Golfers may be removed from the Golf Course due to threatening or abusive behavior, damaging the golf course, or behavior that may cause injury to themselves or others.
  • The facilities of Rock Creek Golf Club include an 18-hole golf course designed by Earl Stone and related practice facilities which include a putting green and a driving range
  • The Clubhouse amenities include dining facilities, a golf shop, golf cart storage facilities, and patio areas.
  • Honours Golf Company, an Alabama limited liability company, doing business as Rock Creek Golf Club, owns and operates the Club facilities.

Course Rules

Tee Times and Starting Information
  • Permanent tee times are not permitted. We are happy to reserve tee times, but Rock Creek reserves the right to move any pre booked groups.
  • Please give the golf shop a 24 hour cancellation notice before your tee time.
  • The maximum number or players allowed per group is four; five-somes are only permitted with golf shop approval.
  • Spectators and caddies are permitted on the golf course with golf shop approval. Additional fees may be required.
  • All players must check in at the pro shop. Players must start play from hole 1 unless otherwise directed by the golf shop.
  • Golf marshals may be on duty to help regulate play and enforce golf cart regulations. Your cooperation is appreciated. Golfers must comply with the Course Management and/or Marshal’s instructions. Failure to do so may result in removal from the course.
  • Wednesday evenings are reserved for range maintenance. They range will be closed Wednesday night to Thursday morning to allow the staff to clear the range of all balls for mowing. Subject to change based on weather conditions, projects, and course maintenance.
  • Balls and bags must remain on the driving range. Please do not take home for later use
  • Guests must be accompanied by a Member to receive any benefits or discounts.

Cart Rules

  • To operate a golf cart, the operator must be 16 years of age, with a valid driver’s license.
  • All golf cart operators must abide by daily cart rules
  • Golf carts shall not be used without registration in the Golf Shop.
  • Only two persons and two sets of golf clubs are permitted per golf cart.
  • Do not park golf carts on grass near range
  • Golf carts must return to the path where signs indicate
  • Golf carts must be kept 30 yards away from greens and tees and must be operated in a way that does not damage the course.
  • Never drive a golf cart through a hazard.
  • Never drive a golf cart in wooded areas-this also includes areas which have tall grass
  • Operation of a golf cart is at the risk of the operator. The operator will be held fully responsible for any and all damages resulting from misuse.
  • Violations of the golf cart rules may result in loss of cart and/or playing privileges.
  • Obey all golf cart traffic signs. Use caution when crossing subdivision streets.
Privately Owned Carts
  • The privilege to use a privately owned golf cart is non-transferable
  • Private golf carts must be stored on golf cart owners property
  • Any person who is not a golf cart owner and who is riding as the second person in a privately owned golf cart must check in at the golf shop and pay the appropriate fees before beginning play
  • If using public roads to travel to Rock Creek, the cart must be street legal
  • Privately owned golf carts must be electrically operated and have canopy tops
  • Members with a privately owned golf cart must check in at the golf shop prior to beginning play.
  • Members of privately owned golf carts are required to ensure that their carts are restricted to licensed drivers who will operate the cart in a safe, prudent manner and in accordance with all governmental regulations

Course Etiquette

  • All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times. This is the spirit of the game of golf.
  • Players should not play until the players in front are out of range.
  • Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players.
  • Players should play at a good pace. It is a group’s responsibility to keep up with the group in front. We strive for a 4 hour and 5 minute round of golf for all groups
  • If the group falls behind pace, they may be asked to move their position
  • Do not waste time. Players should anticipate the club or clubs they may need and go directly to their ball to play promptly when it is their turn. If a player is delayed in making their shot, they should indicate to another player to play out of turn.
  • The time required to hole out on and around the green is a chief cause of slow play. Players should study and clear the line of their putt while others are doing the same. They should be ready to putt when it is their turn, and hole out if they can do so without standing on another player’s line of putt. When playing on or near the putting green, they should leave their bags or carts in such a position as well enable quick movement off the green and towards the next tee.
  • When the play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the putting green. Scoring should be done at the next tee while waiting for others in the group to play.
  • If a player believes his ball may be lost or out of bounds, to save time, he should play a provisional ball.
  • When entering and leaving bunkers avoid climbing the steepest parts of the bunker. Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made utilizing the provided rake. The rake should be left outside of the bunker
  • Practice is not allowed on the golf course property. The practice range and the practice putting greens should be used for practice.
  • Players should carefully repair any divot holes made by them and any damage to the putting green made by the impact of a ball (whether or not made by the player or someone else- repair yours and the other).
  • In order to avoid damaging the hole, players should not stand too close to the hole and should take care during the handling of the flagstick and the removal of a ball from the hole. Do not use a club to remove a ball from the hole.
  • All groups should tee off at their assigned time in order to maintain proper spacing ahead of them unless golf shop staff directs otherwise.
  • Groups failing to check in prior to their time may lose their time and will be moved to the next available tee time.
  • Search for lost balls for a maximum of 5 minutes
  • Rangers are on the golf course to ensure a positive experience for all customers. Please contact them for assistance at any time.

Membership Information

Member Privileges
  • The Golf Club is administered by the management of the Golf club. The management is free to run the club in accordance with its discretion. A membership at the Golf Club provides the Member with certain privileges to use but does not grant the Member any ownership interest in the Golf Club, or any input into the management of the Golf Club.
  • The privileges of a Club Membership are subject to this Membership Plan, as it may be amended from time to time. The Club reserves the right to issue other classifications of membership and to establish the use of privileges and fees to be paid by these additional classifications of membership.
  • Members of the Club should have the following privileges:
    • Use of the Club Facilities during operating hours and on an availability basis
    • Reserve one tee time per day 7 days in advance, subject to course availability. No guarantee is given on availability of tee times after 7 days advance sign-up.
    • Use the golf facilities without payment of green fees
    • A discount on accompanied guest green fees as set by the Club
    • Priority use of bag storage on an availability basis for a fee
    • The opportunity to play in Member events and attend Members only social events
    • Waived room rental fees for banquet events
    • Participate in special promotions including receiving a discount of up to 20% from the golf pro shop
    • Memberships will be transferable subject to the Membership Plan.
  • The Member’s family shall be entitled to use the Club facility. A Member’s family consists of a spouse and any unmarried children under age 23 who are living at home or are attending school on a full time basis. Other family members will be considered guests under this Membership Plan.
  • Memberships may be held in the name of a company, partnership, or other form of multiple ownership.
  • Member events such as Happy Hour, Member Dinner and other Members only events are reserved for Members only. If a Member has an out of town guest staying with them temporarily, Members may invite them to Members only events with the club manager’s approval. If notification is not given ahead of time, fees may apply.
Transfer of Membership Privileges
  • Club Members who desire to resign their memberships must give the Club 60 days prior written notice of their intention to resign membership privileges. The resigned membership reverts back to the Club. A resigned Club Member shall continue to be obligated to pay dues and fees associated with the resigned membership through the 60 day notice period.
  • The Club has the right to reissue resigned memberships
  • Dues and other fees paid in advance will be prorated when the membership is reissued
  • Upon the death of a member of the club, the membership privileges will be transferred to the member’s survivors without the payment of any additional membership fee. If there are no survivors of the survivors do not desire to continue membership privileges, the membership shall be deemed to be resigned and will be placed on the resigned membership waiting list to be reissued to individuals who desire membership privileges in the Club.
Membership Fees
  • Membership fees are due at the beginning of each month and are subject to change by management. All membership fees are non-refundable.
  • The Member agrees to pay the required membership initiation fee for membership privileges in the club, plus all applicable taxes.
  • The Member acknowledges that repayment of the initiation fee will be based on the Member’s Vested status (20% each year for four years) and will not exceed 80% of the Initiation Fee actually paid in.
  • Payment in full is due by the 20th of each month. After 30 days, finance charges may be applied. After 60 days, suspension of privileges may apply. Dues may continue to be charged. After 90 days, account may be sent to collections.
  • Dues may continue to be charged until the unpaid balance exceeds the initiation fee refund that may have otherwise been credited. Once the amount exceeds that amount, any refund will be used to pay the debt and the membership will be closed.
  • In addition, existing memberships will be sold at a ratio of two membership sales to one existing membership. The initiation fee shall not bear interest. Any right of the member to receive the repayment of the initiation fee is not transferable or negotiable.
  • In the event the Club terminates the membership plan after five years from the date of the club approval, the member shall not be entitled to a refund of any membership fee. In the event the club terminates the membership plan prior to five years from the date of club approval, the club will repay the member any membership fee actually paid by the member to the club.
  • In the event the member resigns a membership, the member shall not be entitled to a refund, of 80%, unless four years of club membership has been fulfilled.
  • The club reserves the right to change at any time the amount of the membership fee to be repaid and the term or repayment for the membership fee. Any such change will not affect, in any way, the rights of members who have obtained a membership prior to the time the change takes effect.
Application for Membership Privileges
  • A person who has been invited to membership must mail or deliver to the Director of Golf at the Club or the Club Accountant, a fully completed and signed application for membership and a check for the membership fee due.
  • The Club shall review all applications for membership privileges. After receiving the application for membership privileges and the required payment, the club will determine whether the applicant has satisfied the relevant conditions of membership. If the applicant has satisfied those conditions, the applicant will be notified that the application has been acted upon favorably.
  • In the event the application is not acted upon favorably, the applicant will receive a refund of the membership fee actually paid, without interest.
  • If approved for membership to the club, the club member agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions of this membership plan, as amended from time to time and agrees to fully substitute the membership privileges acquired pursuant to this
Dues and Charges
  • The Membership year of the club is January 1 to December 31
  • Each year the club will determine the amount of dues, fees, and other fee charges to be paid by each member of the club for the next membership year and will be published in the schedule of dues and  charges. Dues shall not increase by more than 20% annually.
  • Dues shall be due and payable in advance, on or before the first day of each billing period during the membership year, unless otherwise established by the Club. The failure of any member to pay dues and other fees within the prescribed time period shall constitute grounds for forfeiture of membership privileges in the club.
  • Members of the club are not subject to any operating or capital assessments. The payment of dues, fees, state taxes, service charges, personal and other charges that the club may establish from time to time in its sole discretion is required to obtain and maintain membership privileges in the club and is not capital or operating assessment. With the exception of these charges, members are not subject to any liability or assessment for the cost and expenses of ownership management of the club or the club facilities. The club will pay all operating deficits incurred in the operation of the club and will retain all operating surplus resulting from operation of the club facilities.
Other Memberships and use privileges
  • The club has the right to designate persons to use any or all of the club facilities, including the golf facilities, for any purpose and upon such terms and conditions as are established from time to time by the Club. The persons designated to use the Club Facilities may include, without limitation, persons who are employees of the club, persons who are prospective members of the club, persons who are prospective purchasers of residences or lots in Rock Creek and persons who are involved in special events held at the club.
  • The club shall have the right at any time to hold promotional and other special events, including tournaments, and to promote the club in advertisements and promotional materials by making reference to the club and the availability of memberships in the club. The club reserves the right to restrict or otherwise reserve in advance the club facilities including the golf facilities, for maintenance, tournament or group play, and other special events from time to time.
Club Operations
  • The Club will manage and operate the Club Facilities. However, the Club reserves the right to retain a professional management firm, which may or may not be affiliated with the Club, to manage and operate the day to-day affairs of the club facilities. The Club is responsible for the government and administration of the club facilities and will have the exclusive authority to accept members, establish membership fees, dues and charges, establish rules and regulations and control the management and affairs of the club.
  • Members have no voting privileges on any club matters or to otherwise become involved in the management of the club or the club facilities
Acknowledgment of Membership Rights
  • The Club Facilities are owned by the Club. Club Membership is not an investment in the Club and does not provide the member with an equity or ownership interest or any other property interest in the Club or the Club Facilities. Membership in the Club permits the member to use the Club Facilities, but does not grand a member a vested or prescriptive right or easement to use the Club facilities. Members do not have any interest in the income of the Club and do not have the right to receive any of the club’s assets if the club is dissolved.
  • The Club reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to modify the terms of this Membership plan, to terminate the membership plan or any particular membership, to discontinue operation of any or all of the club facilities, to sell or otherwise dispose of the club facilities, to convert the club into a membership-owned club, and to make any other changes in the terms and conditions of the membership of the club facilities, which are available for use by members of the club. In the event this membership plan or any particular membership is terminated by the club or the operation of all or substantially all of the club facilities is discontinued before _____ (date)the affected members of the club will be repaid 100 percent of the membership fee actually paid, without interest.
Club Events
  • RSVP more than 3 days in advance for all Club Events. Reservations made within 3 days of the event may not receive the planned menu items but will be charged the event price.
  • Member events such as Happy Hour, Member Dinner and other Members only events are reserved for Members only. If a Member has an out of town guest staying with them temporarily, Members may invite them to Members only events with the club manager’s approval. If notification is not given ahead of time, fees may apply.
  • Unattended events without a cancellation, will be charged to your account
  • The Club communicates with its Members in the following ways
    • Annual Calendar of events
    • Emails
    • Member communications board
    • Signage around the Clubhouse
    • Social Media (facebook, twitter, google+, linkedIn, Pinterest, Foursquare, Instagram)
  •  If a Member has an issue, concern, or complaint they are asked to refrain from reprimanding the Honours Golf Team Members. Members are asked to speak with the General Manager or Superintendent for all issues, concerns, and complaints. For issues outside of club Management’s control, Members are welcome to speak with our Corporate Team at Honours Golf Headquarters.
